The St. Louis Cardinals are open to offers for third baseman Nolan Arenado and right-hander Sonny Gray, sources told Katie Woo of The Athletic.

Relievers Ryan Helsley, Phil Maton, and Steven Matz are also available, Woo reports.

Arenado and Gray would be two of the more notable players available this trade season if St. Louis is inclined to move them. However, they each own full no-trade clauses, and therefore control their ultimate fates. Arenado blocked a trade to the Houston Astros during the offseason.

Both players are under contract through the end of next season. Gray will earn $35 million in 2026, and has a $30-million club option for 2027. Arenado, meanwhile, is slated to earn $27 million next year before deferrals.

Arenado's bat has fallen off this year, as he entered Friday hitting a career-worst .241/.299/.378 with 10 homers and 43 RBIs over 91 games. However, the 10-time Gold Glover remains among the best defenders in the sport, tallying six defensive runs saved with only three errors at the hot corner.

Gray, 35, owns a 4.33 ERA and 1.20 WHIP along with 128 strikeouts and one shutout over 21 starts this year. However, he also sports a 3.02 FIP and a career-best 1.5 BB/9 rate.

Helsley, a pending free agent, has recorded 20 saves and sports a 10.0 K/9 over 35 appearances. The 31-year-old saved an MLB-best 49 games in 2024.

Maton and Matz are both in the final years of their contracts with St. Louis.

The Cardinals have largely defied expectations this season, but still sit just three games over .500 and eight games out of first place with less than a week to go before the trade deadline.
