Adames: 'Something negative is in the air' as Giants' struggles continue
The San Francisco Giants lost their fifth straight game Wednesday, and shortstop Willy Adames senses something off with the team.
"We didn't play the best baseball the last three days, but it feels like for the last two months it's the same story," Adames said after the Giants were swept by the San Diego Padres following an 11-1 loss, according to 95.7 The Game.
"It feels like nothing positive is coming."
Wednesday's loss featured a couple of strange plays for San Francisco. A potential inning-ending double play off the bat of Jake Cronenworth bounced off the second-base bag into center field.
Also in the second inning, a throwing error by Heliot Ramos allowed Fernando Tatis Jr. to score from first. The Padres rallied for seven runs in the frame.

"Something negative is in the air," Adames said. "We haven't been able to figure out how to beat it and how to be better out there. It's the same story. It sucks. It's bad."
The Giants have struggled in the second half, posting a 7-17 record.
They've fallen 10 games behind the Padres for top spot in the National League West and are six games behind the New York Mets for the third NL wild-card spot.
