Superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named ALCS MVP following the Toronto Blue Jays' series victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday.

Guerrero hit a scorching .385/.484/.846 with three homers, six extra-base hits, six runs scored, and four walks during the seven-game series while striking out just twice in 31 plate appearances. He also played tremendous defense at first base, starting multiple game-changing plays with his glove.

The 26-year-old is the third Blue Jays player to win the award, following Roberto Alomar in 1992 and Dave Stewart in 1993. He's also just the second primary first baseman to claim ALCS MVP honors, joining Paul Konerko of the Chicago White Sox in 2005.

Toronto signed Guerrero to a 14-year, $500-million contract earlier this season.

The Blue Jays will face the NL champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, which starts Friday at Rogers Centre.
