13 MLB free agents extended qualifying offer
Thirteen eligible MLB free agents were extended a qualifying offer by their 2025 teams ahead of Thursday's 5 p.m. ET deadline.
Players who received a qualifying offer have until Nov. 18 to either accept the one-year, $22.025-million contract or reject it and remain a free agent.
| Player | Position | Team |
|---|---|---|
| Bo Bichette | SS | Blue Jays |
| Dylan Cease | SP | Padres |
| Edwin Díaz | RP | Mets |
| Zac Gallen | SP | D-Backs |
| Trent Grisham | OF | Yankees |
| Shota Imanaga | SP | Cubs |
| Michael King | SP | Padres |
| Kyle Schwarber | DH/OF | Phillies |
| Ranger Suárez | SP | Phillies |
| Gleyber Torres | 2B | Tigers |
| Kyle Tucker | OF | Cubs |
| Framber Valdez | SP | Astros |
| Brandon Woodruff | SP | Brewers |
Players who don't accept the qualifying offer will be attached to draft-pick compensation, meaning any other team that signs those free agents will forfeit a 2026 draft selection. The value of that pick depends on multiple factors.
A player can only receive a qualifying offer once in his career, and any free agent traded midway through the 2025 season isn't eligible to receive one.
Thirteen players received qualifying offers last offseason. Reds pitcher Nick Martinez was the only player to accept.
