Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac revealed in an Instagram post Friday that he underwent "life-saving" brain surgery in July.
Isaac, 21, called the situation the "scariest moment of my life."
Isaac started the 2025 campaign with Double-A Montgomery. His season ended in June, with his absence believed to be related to previous arm injuries, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin. Isaac asked the Rays not to share the details of his surgery.
The 2022 first-round pick is expected to be ready for the start of spring training, according to Topkin.
Isaac is the Rays' No. 5-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
