The Associated Press is reporting that free agent first baseman Garrett Jones' deal with the Miami Marlins will be worth $7.75 million over two years, according to someone close to the negotiation.
Despite coming off a bad year, Jones' acquisition certainly fills a need in Miami, as Marlins' first basemen combined for a paltry 10 home runs a season ago - last in the majors.
Jones must pass a physical to finalize the deal.
