Roy Halladay retires as a Blue Jay after 16 years in the majors

Starting pitcher Roy Halladay announced his retirement on Monday, signing a one-day contract with the Toronto Blue Jays to end his career with the team that it all began with. 

Halladay, who orchestrated his retirement with Toronto, leaves the game with a career 3.38 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 2,749 1/3 innings, and as one of the most dominant pitchers of his generation. He won 203 of his 390 starts, and finished with a remarkable 67 complete games.
