While the Dodgers intend to play it safe with Matt Kemp, who missed more than half the 2013 season dealing with myriad injuries, general manager Ned Colletti anticipates that the beleaguered outfielder will participate at spring training, reports MLB.com's Austin Laymance.
"We're going to take it as deliberately as possible and as cautious as possible," Colletti said. "We expect him to be playing by the time we're in the midst of spring training, and he should have a chance to play a lot."
Kemp had the protective boot removed from his surgically-repaired left ankle last month, and is starting to resume baseball activities, according to Laymance. Limited to 73 games last season, the 29-year-old is also recovering from October surgery on his shoulder.
