Seen by some as a potential candidate to close entering last season, Alburquerque went on to post a 4.59 ERA, a 1.49 WHIP and 10 holds in 53 games with Detroit in 2013. He did fan 70 batters in just 49 innings, however, so he has quality stuff, but Alburquerque won't see opportunities to close so long as Joe Nathan is healthy.
