Tampa Bay becomes the 32-year-old's eighth MLB team. Betemit spent the last two seasons in Baltimore but was limited to only six games last season after suffering a knee injury.
Betemit was been used as a utility bench player over his career, averaging 73 games over the past five seasons. In 2012, his last healthy season, he batted .261/.322/.422 with 12 home runs and 40 RBI in 102 games. Betemit played primarily at third but also saw time at first base and left field.
