Clemens, Martinez, Garciaparra and Castiglione named to Red Sox HOF

The Boston Red Sox have announced this years inductees into the team's Hall of Fame.
Roger Clemens is going to the Hall of Fame…the #RedSox HOF that is. Along with Nomar Garciaparra, Pedro Martinez and Joe Castiglione.

To be eligible for nomination by the 15-member committee, players must have played at least three years with the Red Sox and must also have been out of uniform as an active player at least three years.
Roger Clemens: 1984-1996
Alleged steroid use may keep Clemens out of Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame, but at least the Red Sox all-time leader in wins (tied with Cy Young) will be immortalized by the team he spent 13 seasons with.
Clemens was drafted in the first round by the Red Sox in 1983 and would go on to throw 2776 innings for Boston, second all-time behind Tim Wakefield. The right-hander also won three Cy Young awards and was a five-time All-Star during his time in Massachusetts.

Pedro Martinez: 1998-2004
While his tenure in Boston wasn't as long as Clemens, Martinez is arguably the best pitcher to ever wear a Red Sox uniform. Take a look at the right-hander's numbers; they're staggering. In seven seasons, Martinez won two Cy Young awards, and finishing in the top four in voting in four of the other five seasons.
His 0.98 WHIP ranks second all-time in team history and his Game 3 victory over St.Louis in 2004 helped solidify Boston's first World Series title in 86 years.

Nomar Garciaparra: 1996-2004
Garciaparra was drafted 12th overall by the Red Sox in 1994 and would go on to win the American League Rookie of the Year three years later. Traded at the deadline to the Cubs in 2004, Garciaparra manned short stop for 966 games in Boston and collected five All-Star appearances.
The California native had six seasons with 21 or more home runs and six with at least 96 RBI. His .337 average ranks fourth on the Red Sox all-time list.

Joe Castiglione: 1983-present
While Clemens, Martinez and Garciaparra earned their accomplishments on the field, Castiglione earned his in the broadcast booth.
The team's play-by-play announcer for 31 seasons, Castiglione called the Red Sox's last three World Series wins including his signature "can you believe it?" call after the final out in the 2004 World series.
