The Cincinnati Reds lifted their ban on facial hair, in place since 1967, on this day in 1999, but it's back. Well, sort of:
...there's a facial hair policy for the Cincinnati #Reds in 2014. Beards and moustaches are permitted but must be tame. "No Duck Dynasty"

Forget "Duck Dynasty," this is the Boston Red Sox's fault. They didn't just grow beards on the way to another World Series championship, they were their beards. All the tugging, and pulling, and touching ... let's be honest: it got a little weird.

But, hey, you can't argue with the results. Well, unless you're the Reds.
The good news: Mr. Redlegs' mustache isn't going anywhere.
The facial hair rules aren't meant to be hard on the players, Ramsey, the Reds' assistant director of media relations, added. It's about the Reds becoming a "more team-first club."
I think the players are handling the facial hair policy way better than some of my Twitter followers. Yikes. C'mon guys.

Twitter followers: they're the worst.
