Yes, Colon, who'll be 41 in late May, is a professional baseball player. A pitcher. A pretty good one at that, too.
Colon signed a two-year, $20-million deal with the Mets in December, and it was an easy decision: the Mets were the only club to offer him a guaranteed two years, writes ESPN's Adam Rubin.
Colon's coming off two dominant years in Oakland. He had a 2.99 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 342 2/3 innings in the Bay Area. And he plans to pitch until his body "can't take it anymore."
And Colon knows what you're thinking. He knows you think he's fat. And you know what? He doesn't care.
"I'm not worried about my weight," Colon said. "I've always been a big guy and I've always pitched that way. I'm comfortable with that."
In other words: Colon, at 265 pounds, is comfortable with his body. Perhaps it's time you got comfortable with yours.
