Dodgers concerned about Yasiel Puig's weight gain
Yasiel Puig showed up at the Los Angeles Dodgers camp 26 pounds heavier than he weighed at the end of the 2013 season and has caught the attention of manager Don Mattingly.
"We don't feel it's going to be a problem, but we're paying attention to it, put it that way," Mattingly told Mark Saxon of ESPN.
Puig, 23, has already suffered a minor setback during Spring Training after the slugger underwent an MRI last week that revealed inflammation in his throwing shoulder.
The club is hoping Puig can shed some pounds and return to his end-of- season weight of 235 pounds before the Dodgers start the season on March 22 against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Sydney, Australia.
