GIF: Matt Moore hit in the face with line drive
Tampa Bay Rays starter Matt Moore was involved in a scary split second on Sunday afternoon against the Boston Red Sox, as Xander Bogaerts lined a rocket back through the box and off Moore's face.
From the looks of both the live shot and the fact that Moore was able to pop back up to make the out at first, the line drive was likely deflected by Moore's glove enough to avoid being a major injury.

Aside from a cut on his lip, Moore appeared to escape a dangerous situation without any major issue. As a precaution, Moore was taken off the field in a cart after doing some pacing in the Rays dugout.
With images of Aroldis Chapman's head full of stitches still fresh in the minds of baseball fans, there is hope that Moore did just enough to protect himself from significant damage.
