Outfielder Jake Marisnick was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Thursday, Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Analysis:
Despite batting .432/.479/.591 with five doubles and four steals during spring training, Marisnick will find himself in the minors to begin the year. This move indicates Marcell Ozuna has won the starting job in center field, but the team has yet to confirm. While the 22-year-old Marisnick struggled in his first stint in the majors last season (.183/.231/.248), he was rushed a bit and may very well have more long-term upside than Ozuna.
