Report: David Hale named Braves' 4th starter
Jonathan Dyer / USA TODAY Sports
Atlanta Braves pitcher David Hale has earned the Braves' fourth starting pitcher job, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis:
Hale was locked in a battle with Gus Schlosser for the spot and will begin the season in the rotation despite struggling during Spring Training. Hale went 0-3, posting a 6.62 ERA in 17.2 cumulative innings. At Triple-A Gwinnett last season, however, Hale's ERA sat at 3.22 in 114.2 innings. The decision to insert Hale into the rotation will push Schlosser to a long relief role.
