David Freese hoped to avoid a trip to the disabled list when he fractured his finger Friday night, but the Angels took action Saturday to reinforce his position.
Freese was placed on the 15-day DL and the team called up Luis Jimenez from Triple-A Salt Lake to take over third base duties.
Los Angeles also optioned J.B. Schuck to Salt Lake. The Bees were very welcoming/sensitive to the demotion.
Congrats to C.J. Cron and Luis Jimenez who are joining the Angels and in the lineup in Anaheim tonight! J.B. Shuck will join us in Salt Lake
