Randy Wolf: Signs with Marlins
Wolf signed a one-year deal with the Marlins on Wednesday, Jayson Stark of ESPN.com reports. The contract is worth $1 million plus performance bonuses, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
Analysis:
Wolf didn't land a gig with the Mariners out of spring training, opting for free agency to explore other options, He eventually signed with the Diamondbacks in early April but wasn't afforded an opportunity with the big club. In six starts at Triple-A Reno, though, he posted a 5-1 record, 4.50 ERA, 1.706 WHIP, and 35:18 K:BB in 34 innings. Upon his arrival in Miami, expect him to fill the spot in the rotation vacated by Jose Fernandez (elbow), who will undergo Tommy John surgery in the near future.
