Miami Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia suffered an injury in the team's 14-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night.

Saltalamacchia exited the game in the ninth inning and was replaced by Jeff Mathis behind the plate. Manager Mike Redmond wasn't going to push his No. 1 catcher with the tight 12:40 p.m. ET matinee scheduled for Thursday after a night game.

The team did not reveal the results of the X-ray and there was no timetable given for his return.
