Overview
Considered by most to be the next-best shortstop in the draft after Nick Gordon, Turner possesses game-changing speed at a premium position. A converted third baseman with two years of college experience at shortstop, Turner projects to be an average fielder with good range and an average arm.
Turner's lack of upside at the plate leaves some to be desired, despite leading NC State in home runs and on-base percentage. An All-ACC first team selection, Turner’s speed (26 steals in 30 attempts) gives him a chance to be a leadoff hitter in the pros.
