Hanley Ramirez continues torrid hitting pace in blowout win
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez is once again rounding into form as one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball.
After posting a .345/.402/.638 line last season, Ramirez started the 2014 campaign without the same hot bat. This weekend, however, he appears to be finding his stride.
A 4-for-4 day against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday afternoon gave Ramirez six hits in six straight at-bats, a stretch that includes two home runs, a double, and three singles.
The swings have raised his line to .265/.339/.480 on the campaign, a dangerous sign for pitchers facing the Dodgers over the next few months. He was dominant through the summer months last year, posting a batting average above .365 in both June and July along with on-base percentages above .410 both months.
Nearly the entire Dodgers lineup put together quality numbers on Saturday, as the team cruised to a 12-2 win on the back of 14 hits.
