Rays designate Josh Lueke for assignment, call up Kirby Yates

The Tampa Bay Rays designated pitcher Josh Lueke for assignment Saturday, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

The 29-year-old reliever made 10 appearances in the month of May, allowing runs in half of those. He's letting opponents bat .290 and holds a 1.40 WHIP.
Tampa Bay announced Kirby Yates will get the call to fill his roster spot. The right-hander owns an 0.36 ERA in 21 games for Triple-A Durham. Yates has 35 strikeouts in 25 innings for the Bulls.
