VIDEO: Quintin Berry ran the bases after he was ejected from a Triple-A game
Baltimore Orioles minor leaguer Quintin Berry was ejected from Thursday's Norfolk Tides game after reaching base on a single in the ninth inning against the Syracuse Chiefs.
Berry was the tying run for the Tides at first, but appeared to start arguing with the first base umpire, he was then ejected.
Instead of going straight to the dugout, he rounded the bases and slid into home. Quite an exit in front of the smattering of fans at the ballpark.
Berry was designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers early in the 2013 season. He was claimed by the Kansas City Royals, and later traded to the Boston Red Sox. Berry earned a World Series ring with his three pinch-running appearances against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The outfielder signed as a free agent with the Baltimore Orioles in January.
