Astros' Altuve sets new club record for hits prior to All-Star break

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was named an All-Star for a second time Sunday and one night later he etched his name in the club's record books.

Altuve, the league leader in hits, broke Bob Watson's team record for hits (124) prior to the break with a single to left field in the top of the eighth inning against the Texas Rangers. He pulled even with Watson earlier in the night on an overturned call which credited him with a hit.
