Derek Jeter's final All-Star appearance will likely span two plate appearances and three or four innings, according to American League manager John Farrell.
Most All-Stars will be subbed out at some point during the night, anyway, to spread playing time around, but pulling Jeter mid-game should also afford him the opportunity for what should be a rousing ovation.
A similar ovation is expected when Jeter steps to the dish to lead off the bottom of the first, where National League starting catcher Jonathan Lucroy plans to step out of the way to let the moment breathe (but may try to take a home plate selfie).
Tuesday marks the 14th All-Star Game of Jeter's 20-year career. Through 13 appearances, Jeter is 11-of-25 with a pair of walks and one home run, good for an impressive .440/.481/.600 slash line. Things have certainly changed since his first mid-summer classic back in 1998:

Obviously, Jeter is a huge part of Tuesday's game, and the media presence for his batting practice session was appreciable. It might be worth betting on him getting a hit, even if he's only going to get two chances to do so.
