The MLB July 31 trade deadline is just 11 days away, and general managers around the league are no doubt burning up the phone lines with each other in hopes of acquiring the right piece for their team.
To date, we've seen eight trades go down in July, including the A's acquisition of Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel from the Cubs, Brandon McCarthy to the Yankees, and most recently, closer Huston Street to the Angels.
Here are the latest rumors from around the league:
- The Cincinnati Reds may be just 2.5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central, but injuries to Brandon Phillips and Joey Votto have hurt their chances down the stretch. On Sunday, we learned both will be out until late-August, early September, but the team is still searching for bats on the trade market.
- Nick Cafardo's latest for the The Boston Globe has the Blue Jays 'in on everyone' which includes David Price, and Chase Utley.

- The San Diego Padres may hold on to Chase Headley this season.
- The Angels acquired closer Huston Street this week, and general manager Jerry Dipoto said the team is now in a 'feeler mode'.
