Former major leaguer Chuck Knoblauch was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife, according to ABC-13 in Houston.

Knoblauch is reportedly charged with assault on a family member and interfering with police duties. He was released on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

The 46-year-old spent 12 seasons in the majors with stops in Minnesota, New York (Yankees) and Kansas City.

His ex-wife allegedly suffered a large bruise on her arm, scratch on her face, and a knot on her forehead during the incident.

Additional details from the police report, via ABC-13:

Cheri told police her husband was upset she slept next to her child in another bedroom rather than next to him. He allegedly grabbed her and smashed her head against a wall before throwing a humidifier at her.

Cheri ran to her sister-in-law, who was at home with them, for help but that allegedly didn't stop Knoblauch. Instead, he allegedly hit her in the arm and chest and continued screaming at her.

Knoblauch's sister took Cheri back to her home, where they called police.

Knoblauch was the 1991 American League Rookie of the Year and made four All-Star appearances with the Twins. He won four World Series titles during his career; three with the Yankees and one in Minnesota.

The former second baseman was scheduled to attend an induction ceremony Aug. 23 after his election to the Twins' Hall of Fame earlier this year, but the club issued a statement Thursday canceling the event.

Knoblauch was convicted of assaulting Stacey Stelmach in 2010, who he was married to at the time, and sentenced to a year's probation.
