The Seattle Mariners added switch-hitter Kendrys Morales on Thursday in a deal with the Minnesota Twins, and they were ready to keep adding with a trade for outfield help even farther west.
A league source confirmed to The Denver Post that the Mariners offered a deal for Colorado Rockies' Drew Stubbs this week. The source said the Rockies aren't actively trying to trade the outfielder, who is having the best season of his career (.297/.335/.498) in 82 games.
Still, the Rockies have a surplus of outfielders, with both Charlie Blackmon and Corey Dickerson doing good work for the club.
The Post notes the Rockies would likely want young pitchers in return.
