Report: Nick Evans signs in Japan following Diamondbacks release

The Rakuten Golden Eagles are reportedly set to gain from Jordan Pacheco's return to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

AZCentral Sports' Nick Piecoro reports that journeyman Nick Evans will join the defending Japanese champions after being cut Monday to make room for Pacheco. 

Evans picked up six hits in 23 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks in his first major league stint since 2011.
