Decimated by injuries, the Rangers have been miserable this season but believe their roster is one that can compete in 2015. Veteran relievers Jason Frasor and Joakim Soria have been traded for assets while unrestricted free agent outfielder Alex Rios has received interest from at least four teams but Darvish and Beltre remain in the long term plans for Texas.
Beltre is signed through 2015 and has a $16 million vesting option for the following year, while Darvish is set to earn $20 million over the next two seasons with an $11 million player option for 2017 if he meets certain certain targets.
