The Boston Red Sox are reportedly seeking "at least two elite-level prospects" in a potential deal for left-hander Jon Lester, but the club also wants a player who can contribute immediately at the major-league level, according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

Lester's name has surfaced repeatedly in trade talks over the last 24 hours, and several reports have suggested the Baltimore Orioles are close to a deal for the 30-year-old, who was scratched from Wednesday's scheduled start against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Several other clubs have been linked to Lester, including the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers, though it remains unclear how much dialogue those teams have had with the Red Sox.
