Padres' Alonso done for season with damaged forearm tendon
San Diego Padres first baseman Yonder Alonso's 2014 campaign has come to a disappointing end.
#Padres 1B Yonder Alonso will not play again this season. Damaged forearm tendon. Will likely get second opinion but surgery is possible.

Alonso landed on the disabled list Thursday with a strained forearm. It was the second major injury of the season for the 27-year-old, who missed 32 games spread across June and July with a wrist injury.
"He went on the DL because he was having difficulty," manager Bud Black told Alex Halsted of MLB.com. "When he came back, though, he was good. He said he was 100 percent, he was fine. Then just that freak incident on the steps, when he was about to go in the on-deck circle, something happened. He had the bat in his hand and he felt something in his forearm just right at that moment."
In 84 games this season, Alonso slashed .240/.285/.397 with seven home runs and 27 RBI.
