Bengie Molina is in consideration for managerial openings in Texas and Houston, according to MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez.
Molina, a former catcher who spent 13 seasons in the majors, currently serves as first base coach for the Rangers. He finished his career with the club, appearing in 57 games in 2010.
Both Texas-based teams are in the market for a new manager after Ron Washington resigned from his post with the Rangers and the Astros fired Bo Porter last week.
The report also notes Los Angeles Angels bench coach Dino Ebel is a candidate for the Astros' position. Ebel played six seasons in the minors before beginning his coaching career with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
