Red Sox's Pedroia undergoes successful hand surgery

Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia's season has officially ended after the 31-year-old underwent successful surgery on his left hand on Thursday.
From Red Sox: Dustin Pedroia today underwent a successful first dorsal compartment release and a tenosynovectomy of his left wrist.

Pedroia dealt with lingering soreness in his hand and wrist for the majority of the season which hindered his ability to hit for power. In 135 games, the four-time All-Star hit .278/.337/.376, with a career-low seven home runs.
