Braves' Simmons day-to-day with ankle injury

The ankle injury sustained by Atlanta Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons on Wednesday night does not appear to be serious, but could be a short-term problem for the club.

The Gold Glover did, however, display some troubling physical symptoms following the game.
Simmons walked out of the clubhouse tonight without a limp. Asked if his ankle was bothering him, he said, "Tiny bit."

The Braves will enjoy an off day Thursday before beginning a crucial three-game series with the New York Mets, which will provide Simmons some extra recovery time.
Outfielder Jason Heyward also suffered a thumb injury in the victory.
