PHOTOS: Derek Jeter dominates New York's front pages after magical finale at Yankee Stadium
Derek Jeter's storied career in the Bronx ended in glorious fashion Thursday night, and his unforgettable final game at Yankee Stadium was celebrated on the front page of virtually every major newspaper in New York City on Friday morning.
Jeter delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Yankees to a 6-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, a magical ending that struck manager Joe Girardi as tailor-made.
"I think it's fitting," Girardi told Newsday. "I don't think there's a more fitting way for it to end."
