The Milwaukee Brewers reportedly intend to exercise their $13-million team option on right-hander Yovani Gallardo for next season, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.
Selected in the second round of the 2004 draft, Gallardo has spent his entire major-league career with the Brewers, emerging as a leader in the rotation over the last several seasons. The 28-year-old enjoyed another solid campaign in 2014, crafting a 3.51 ERA (108 ERA+) with a 1.30 WHIP across 32 starts while posting a 2.70 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 192 1/3 innings.
Gallardo, an All-Star in 2010, will become a free agent after the upcoming season.
