Denard Span breaks Nationals' record for multi-hit games, ties team mark for most hits
The Washington Nationals have already secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, but Denard Span is at least one player who will still be playing for something Sunday.
Span set a new team record with his 58th multi-hit game of the year on Saturday, and during the same fifth-inning at-bat tied the Nationals mark for most hits (183) in a single season. Span went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and a run scored in Washington's 5-1 win over Miami.

Span's 183rd hit of the season set a new career high for the Nationals' 30-year-old center fielder, and tied Cristian Guzman's franchise record set in 2008.
Nationals manager Matt Williams is expected to play his regulars to begin Sunday's season finale, but will likely replace them mid-game.
