Astros mulling removal of hill in center field at Minute Maid Park for 2016
The quirky outfield at Minute Maid Park appears headed for an inevitable makeover.
Houston Astros president of business operations Reid Ryan said the team has hired architects and had discussions about getting rid of Tal's Hill in center field, reports the Houston Chronicle's Evan Drellich. Although the field will remain unchanged for the 2015 season, a redesign could be in the works shortly thereafter.
Tal's Hill features an incline and flag pole on the playing field, making it one of the oddest outfield designs among Major League Baseball stadiums.

"It won’t be this year," Ryan said. "It would be after next year. People talk about Tal’s Hill. 'Is Tal’s Hill going away?' We’re going to look at designs of, 'What would that look like if we took it away?' "
Ryan said other renovations to the park will be made, including repairing the roof of the near-15-year-old stadium.
