The Washington Nationals exercised Denard Span's $9-million club option for 2015, reports Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.
It was a rather easy decision for the Nationals to make after Span was worth over 3 WAR for the third consecutive season in 2014, according to FanGraphs.
Span enjoyed another productive season at the plate, hitting .302/.355/.416 with a league-leading 184 hits, while setting career highs in doubles (39) and stolen bases (31).
The center fielder will receive a bump in salary after making $6.5 million last season, his first year in Washington.
