Report: Brandon McCarthy receiving plenty of interest
Brad Penner / USA TODAY Sports
A stellar second half of the season has a number of teams checking in on free agent right-hander Brandon McCarthy, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
The 31-year-old went 7-5 with a 2.89 ERA in 90 1/3 innings after the Arizona Diamondbacks traded him to the New York Yankees in early July.
The Yankees have reached out to McCarthy regarding a possible reunion, but Heyman notes the nine-year veteran is likely to wait until the likes of Max Scherzer, Jon Lester and James Shields sign before determining his value.
