The Los Angeles Angels avoided arbitration with third baseman David Freese by agreeing to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.
Freese will earn $6.425 million in 2015, reports MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez.
Freese requested $7.6 million and the club countered with a $5.25-million figure when the two sides exchanged salary expectations.
The 31-year-old hit .260 with 10 home runs and 55 RBIs in 134 games.
