The Atlanta Braves are reportedly looking to the Cuban market in an effort to bolster their roster.

Atlanta has made a contract offer to highly-touted Cuban infielder Hector Olivera, according to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports. Morosi reported Monday that the two sides have had ongoing discussions and the Braves were seen as a favorite to land the recently-declared free agent.

While Morosi didn't list the terms of the reported offer, Olivera is believed to be seeking a lucrative long-term deal.

He is widely considered to be among the top available Cuban talents after 19-year-old phenom Yoan Moncada was taken off the board by agreeing to a deal with the Boston Red Sox.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants and Miami Marlins are believed to be among other teams interested in his services, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports

Olivera, 29, is a career .323/.407/.505 hitter across 10 seasons in Cuba, according to Baseball Reference.
