White Sox introduce 'Shark Cage' sections when Samardzija pitches
Chicago White Sox fans will have some added incentive to attend games when Jeff Samardzija takes the hill this season.
The club will call sections 154 and 155 of U.S. Cellular Field the "Shark Cage" this year when the right-hander takes the mound, offering fans in the area special themed caps and fin-shaped strikeout cards. Tickets are only $20 for most games.
Samardzija, whose nickname is Shark, was acquired from the Athletics in a December trade that sent Marcus Semien and three other players back to Oakland.
The White Sox will also continue their "K Zone for Sale" promotion this year when staff ace Chris Sale pitches in home games.
The Seattle Mariners have enjoyed overwhelming success with their "King's Court" promotion over recent seasons when Felix Hernandez takes the ball at Safeco Field.
Hopefully, White Sox fans can generate a comparably raucous atmosphere this year.
