The Texas Rangers are parting ways with veteran outfielder Ryan Ludwick.
Ludwick, who signed a minor-league contract with the club in February, was officially released Sunday.
The 36-year-old would have received a one-year, $1.75 million deal if he cracked the 40-man roster.
Ludwick, an All-Star in 2008, hit .244 with nine home runs and 45 RBIs in 112 games for the Cincinnati Reds last season.
