Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez to undergo Tommy John surgery

Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez will undergo Tommy John surgery on his right arm on Thursday.
Dr. James Andrews will perform the operation, and there is currently no timetable for his return.
The defensive-minded 24-year-old will most likely miss the entire season, but should be ready to return for spring training in 2016. He was slated to be the Red Sox's starting catcher to begin the season.
"It's tough, because this is my food - my arm," Vazquez said on Monday, after being placed on the 60-day disabled list.
The Red Sox will now have to rely on Ryan Hanigan and recently acquired veteran Sandy Leon behind home plate.
