VIDEO: Shane Victorino receives standing ovation at Citizens Bank Park
Shane Victorino knew his return to Philadelphia would be emotional.
The reception he received, though, when he stepped to the plate at Citizens Bank Park on Monday as a member of the Boston Red Sox was downright overwhelming.

Victorino, a two-time All-Star, spent eight seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies and was an invaluable member of the 2008 club that defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series. Though he returned to Philadelphia last year with the Red Sox, a back injury prevented him from taking the field.
His tenure with the Phillies ended in 2012 when he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in July, but he still reserves a special place in his heart for Philadelphia.
"I became the player that I am here, and getting that opportunity with this organization, I'm very blessed to still call this place home," Victorino told reporters. "It's a special place to me."
