Twins' Fien dealing with shoulder soreness; considered day-to-day
Minnesota Twins pitchers continue to struggle with remaining healthy.
Reliever Casey Fien was unavailable Friday due to shoulder soreness, according to Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
The righty slipped on a wet mound while delivering his first warm-up pitch in Detroit on Thursday, and immediately felt discomfort in his throwing shoulder. Manager Paul Molitor doesn't believe the injury is serious, however, and will see how Fien reacts to a throwing session Saturday.
The 31-year-old plays an important role out of the bullpen as the setup man behind closer Glen Perkins and earned 26 holds last season.
The Twins officially placed starter Ricky Nolasco (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, and are already missing Ervin Santana due to his 80-game PED suspension.
