VIDEO: Stanton collects 5th homer in 9 games with moonshot at Marlins Park
Somehow, inexplicably, Giancarlo Stanton didn't hit a home run through his first nine games this season.
Over the last couple of weeks, however, the 25-year-old has started to more closely resemble the dude who launched 37 homers last season and subsequently signed a 13-year, $325-million extension with the Miami Marlins.
On Saturday, in fact, the precocious slugger smashed a towering solo shot off Washington Nationals reliever Rafael Martin for his fifth home run in his last nine games.

Despite Stanton's slow start, his patently ridiculous home runs are right there with death and taxes as things that are inevitable in this world. Also, in light of the protective device affixed to his batting helmet, Stanton should henceforth be known as the Masked Masher of Moonshots.
